(HyperX, Razer, Steelseries are nothing but a marketing company.) My recommended gaming headphones- Sennheiser HD 598 (lacks bass, mic) or GSP 300. The price which I paid doesn't justify the headphone but at lower price sure. (Logitech headphones do a far better job in this area). (open back headphones are always better at positional audio) But the most disappointing part is the 7.1 usb sound card, I tested with Netflix (reference movie- Transformers), if you turn on 7.1 (tested on netflix stereo and 5.1 settings) then the sound separation completely gets ruined, hyperX 7.1 algorithm is a failure. In game positional audio does work but not as good as Sennheiser HD 598 which a is lot more comfortable headphone imo. There is an ample amount of bass (not like Sony MDR series) and treble got slightly boosted after the firmware update. Yes built quality and material choice is good. In my opinion, it's not the Legendary headset which everyone clamming it to be.
